Adele Goldberg, Executive Director, Friends of Yad Sarah
Ms. Goldberg joined Yad Sarah as Executive Director of Friends of Yad Sarah in September 2003, representing the mission of Yad Sarah to its friends in the USA and to the international community at the UN. The New York office is open to assist families and communities with dedication opportunities, Bnai Mitzvah chesed projects, planned giving, equipment collections and other new initiatives, raising much needed funds to support the work of the Yad Sarah organization and its dedicated corps of volunteers in Israel.
Prior to joining Yad Sarah, Ms. Goldberg enjoyed a successful and challenging career in the field of gerontological social work, developing innovative programs to meet the needs of the frail and memory impaired elderly. Ms. Goldberg is the co-author of the second edition of the manual “How to Start and Manage a Respite Program: A Guide for Community Based Organizations” published with the assistance of the Brookdale Foundation. The manual has helped more than 200 local organizations to replicate a model of social day care services for the elderly tested by Ms. Goldberg and her able staff over a ten year period. Ms. Goldberg received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
