A video slide show of the Neue Museum.
If you are short on time and want to visit a small museum that features the work of talented Austrian and German artists, the Neue Museum is a great place to visit. The names of the artists may be unfamiliar, and those looking for Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Van Gogh are heading for a disappointment. However, those looking for cultural art will be in for a treat. Stark lines, bright colors and reflections of reality are the themes of these works. Exhibitions are conducted often and the venue is open for private events on rare occasions.
The in-house cafe, is an amazingly good restaurant. Cafe Sabarsky is equipped with a grand piano and serves Viennese, American and traditional Austrian dishes to those who are famished.
The Neue Museum is located at 1048 5th Ave, New York, NY. The Museum Hours are: Monday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Tuesday Closed, Wednesday Closed, Thursday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

The Neue is one of my favorite places in New York, and Cafe Sabarsky puts the lie to the old expectation that museum restaurants aspire to the mediocre. (True, that has been changing in recent years; and the restaurant in the new Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago has become a destination even for those not coming to view the art.) And whoever enjoys the Neue should next head across the ocean to the Neue Pinothek in Munich.
