Father Thomas Hartman is known throughout the U.S. as "Father Tom", one-half of the "The God Squad." Father Tom, together with Rabbi Mark Gellman, made many TV and radio appearances discussing religious and spiritual issues that are important to people in their daily lives.
Father Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2001. As a result of that diagnosis, he founded the Thomas Hartman Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The Foundation has but one mission: finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease. The Thomas Hartman Foundation seeks to provide grants for the newest and most innovative scientific projects which offer the best hope for the advancement and development of a cure. Scientists believe that a cure for Parkinson’s disease can be found within 10 years—a timeframe affirmed by top officials at the National Institutes of Health.
In this video, the scientists who are the recipients of grants speak about the work they are able to do with the funding offered by the Thomas Hartman Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
