Michael H. Berlin, CFA, CPA, is the portfolio manager and managing member of MHB Equity Management LLC, the management company of MHB Equity Partners, a $7 million private investment partnership that has been in business since 2002.

 

MHB Equity Partners is a diversified portfolio of independently researched and actively monitored equity investments. Mr. Berlin focuses his efforts on identifying companies that have attractive prospects relative to valuations. MHB primarily invests in well-managed companies with long track records of legitimate growth. Other attributes include strong balance sheets, stable earnings and healthy dividends.

 

Prior to founding MHB Equity Management and MHB Equity Partners, Mr. Berlin worked at Lehman Brothers in the equities division focusing on risk arbitrage.

 

Mr. Berlin joined Lehman Brothers after attending Columbia Business School, where he graduated with a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in 2000. Mr. Berlin made Dean’s List while at Columbia.

 

Prior to entering business school, Mr. Berlin was an accountant at Ernst & Young. His clients included major investment banks as well as hedge funds.

 

Mr. Berlin graduated from the University of Michigan in 1995 with High Distinction and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He made Dean’s List every year and was awarded membership in two separate national honor societies.

 

Mr. Berlin co-founded StreetWise Partners, a highly successful not-for-profit organization that recruits business professionals to train welfare recipients in job skills.
