Nutrition 365 Includes Summer by Carena Lowenthal

To many people the summer reminds them of BBQ’s, burgers, beers and the beach.  While these are wonderful memories for some, and weekly/ or daily occurrences for others, it is important to mention how there is a tendency to gain weight over the summer (contrary to what would seem to make sense).  You may be thinking of all the bike rides, hikes and tennis games that you plan to do, but then find you didn’t get around to it.  Before you know it, it’s August and you are getting ready for school to start.

Best Senior Health Information

Senior health management is very important. Diet and nutrition affect senior citizen health. Senior nutrition does not simply refer to people in nursing homes. AARP considers you a senior at age 50 and Medicare considers you a senior at age 65; however, at 50 and even at 65, most people these days are not yet ready for a nursing home. To the contrary, they are traveling and volunteering more than ever, and they are so concerned about healthy nutrition that they are very careful to eat well. Senior Health is something that TOS50 members are very concerned about.

The definition of "senior" has changed since I was a child, but I'm not certain exactly what this change is about. Either people aren't really seniors until they're elderly and disabled, or the word "senior" can simply be used to define anyone over a certain age, and that age really has yet to be determined.

Food for seniors, no matter how you are defining "seniors" is a very hot topic. Seniors Food should include health nutrition, possibly achieved through nutrition supplements. You can balance nutrition by being certain to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. Aging nutrition or elderly nutrition should include supplements for bone nutrition and supplements for strength nutrition and arthritis nutrition.

If you are overweight, you might want to consider weight loss nutrition pills to help curb your appetite; however, senior citizen health comes from healthy eating -- healthy food. Herbal nutrition might be able to supply enough vitamins to meet your needs in order to assure bones nutrition. Check out the nutrition videos in the Healthy Eating portion of the website.
