Deborah Norville, Host of Inside Edition, Speaks to Sandy Tankoos and the TOS50.com Community About Her Passions, Embracing Yours, and Being Determined
Everyone knows Deborah Norville as the host of Inside Edition. But, most don’t know how her passion for knitting and yarn got her to where she is now.
It was during her senior year in high school that she signed up to compete in the Junior Miss Pageant to win scholarship money for college. Since she didn’t have a talent such as dancing, or playing the piano, Ms. Norville decided to put together a fashion show featuring the clothes she created. This helped her win and advance on to the next levels. Competing in the pageants ultimately led her to want a career in television, and as she moved up the ranks, she was told that admitting she loved to knit would be “detrimental” to her career. It wasn’t until recently that she decided to tell the world about her passion, and even establish her own line of yarn.
Deborah Norville not only shares her story with the TOS50.com audience, but goes on to say how finding yourself, and knowing who you are, will help you with life. “Don’t be afraid to embrace who you are, whatever your age is,” says Deborah, “When you do embrace what you are all about, opportunities and doors start opening.”
In another video, also on TOS50.com, Deborah discusses the book “Chicken Soup for the Soul- Think Positive.” She explains that all of the stories are filled with inspiration, and will make anyone feel good about his or herself. Deborah also brings up how the “Chicken Soup” series originally had a hard time getting published, but with their positive thinking, they managed to build an empire.
Both videos are uplifting, as Deborah shares more of her story in depth, and her advice on how to live a fulfilling life and to follow your dreams.
